It began with two Palestinian women in Libya.
And a recipe book copied by hand, before a family crossed borders.

Welcome to our family kitchen. When you make this hummus, add the lemon a little at a time. Taste it, then add one more spoon of cold water. That is how we make it soft and creamy. Save a little for the people you love.

OUR PALESTINIAN BEGINNING

Before the app,
there was
a handwritten copy.

Palestine → Libya → US & Jordan

“The exact measurement is what you remember when you miss someone.”
Fresh maamoul with date filling and a wooden mold

Our story begins with two Palestinian women who found each other far from home.

My mother worked at the Japanese embassy in Libya. My eldest aunt worked at Mitsubishi. A colleague introduced them because he knew there was another Palestinian woman nearby.

They became friends first. Later, my father met my mother. They married in Libya, and I was born there.

Before our family split between Jordan and the United States, my aunts copied their recipe book for my mother by hand.

Copying, correcting, calling, remembering. Those ordinary acts kept a family connected across kitchens and countries.

Demeter & Hierophant carries that care forward: a private place to share recipes, keep their stories, and keep making them together.

A recipe saved.
A connection kept.

Recipes disappear into camera rolls and conversations. Give yours a home your whole family can come back to.

Your circle stays yours.

Individual accounts. Invitation-only spaces. You choose who sits at your table.

The correction stays with the dish.

Keep kitchen notes and comments beside the ingredients, where you’ll find them next time.

Useful tonight. Meaningful for years.

Cook mode and timers for dinner. Photos, stories and paid cookbook exports for the years ahead.

One plan for your people.

FOR THE FAMILY. BEYOND THE APP.

Your family’s story should outlive
the company that helps you keep it.

The recipes. The voices. The way someone always added a little more lemon. These belong to your family, across generations, wherever life takes you.

Keep a copy that belongs to you.

Download your own written recipes and contributions on any plan. Save original photos and recordings from their recipe pages. With a paid plan, bring selected recipes and stories together in a cookbook you can save as a PDF, print, and pass on.

Keep those copies somewhere you control. Because preserving a family’s memory should never depend on a single app.
